Hmm now there's a language I've rarely encountered. :)
Closest indigenous language would probably be Indonesian, but that is still about 1.5 hours flight away; maybe two from KL. And I think I predominantly heard Chinese and English in Lion City. ;) I may have heard Malay when I went to the night safari, as I recall it being near the border.
Bahasa Indonesia is similar but not entirely like Malay, we can somewhat understand each other though. Yes, you probably correctly heard a lot of Hokkien dialect and Mandarin in Singapore as well as English :)

Ah, I have otakon. Leaving on the 11 hourish drive at 3 am on Thrusday. Weekend twittering will hopefully be on the upswing.
